Had a weird dream last night. We were in some kind of exchange program between Muslims and Christians, where each would live in eachothers societies for a given amount of time. However, when we went to the Muslim country it turned out to be some kind of rigid Muslim indoctrination camp where everything was strictly controlled. Even the food given was purposely very bland, and with only water to drink. At some point in the dream one of the people I was with was found to have furry art, and it was confiscated. was ran like a military where we were forced to line up at given times. But then there were other times when things were oddly friendly as well.

Was watching a news story about how record numbers of men are no longer in long term relationships, and the even worse effect that's having on the birth rate. They mentioned all kinds of things. Porn addiction, psychological effects of dating sites. But left out a couple very big issues. So I wanted to tell a story. My neighbors were married 20 years or so. Was best friends with their kids growing up. Wife travelled for her job, which involved setting up computers in offices. One day while she was in New Orleans on "work" the husband received divorce paperwork in the mail. She'd found a guy she liked better, wanted her cut of the value of their house, and to top it all off took half his paycheck. Keep in mind by this point both their kids were full grown and living on their own. And she had her own income and the support of another man. So I don't know what kind of assinine law made her entitled to his money. But many millennials witnessed nasty divorces like that growing up. I

It's neither humble nor beautiful. It imposes, but does not elevate. It tries to simplify the complexity of life, but winds up feeling dead. Its bright color can either imply immaturity, or if black and white symbolize death and monotony. Stiff, militaristic and cold. Or violent and uncontrolled. Unnatural. Cruel. Unsympathetic
